About

Hi, I’m Jessica.

Dr. Jessica Cody, Doctor of Physical Therapy

I started Haven because too many women were being told to “just do Kegels” or “live with it.” After more than ten years as a physical therapist, I’ve seen how much changes when someone finally has the time, space, and expertise to look at the whole picture. That’s what I wanted to build: a haven where you’re heard, respected, and in charge of your own care.

Pelvic health became my focus once I realized how common these symptoms are — and how difficult it can be to find care. I know, because I needed that care myself after my daughters were born.

“Nobody should need courage to talk to their physical therapist. My job is to make this conversation feel ordinary — because it is.”

How I practice

  • Whole-body lens. My background in orthopedics means I look beyond the pelvic floor, at your hips, spine, breathing, posture, and gut, because they all talk to each other.
  • Trauma-informed, always. I explain everything before we do it, ask before I touch, and you can pause or change course at any time. Many of my patients never have an internal exam, and that’s okay.
  • Gut-smart pelvic care. Constipation and pelvic floor problems are deeply connected. I have deep clinical experience with bowel-related pelvic floor dysfunction, an area many patients never get proper help with.
  • Collaborative. With your permission, I coordinate with your OB, midwife, urogynecologist, GI doctor, or therapist so your care team is on the same page.

Education & credentials

Why “Haven”

Calm water, off the current

The practice is named for what it’s meant to be. Greenville’s heart is the Reedy — the falls, the bridge, the trail along the water — and a haven is the still pool at the river’s edge: a place to catch your breath and get your footing. We’re rooted here, and virtual patients in 11 states get the same unhurried hour, by video.

A private room — never an open gym floor
Every exam explained first, and only with your consent
Your first visit can be all conversation — no exam until you’re ready
Bring a support person — babies are welcome too
You can pause or stop anything, anytime
Your pronouns, and your words for your own body

You don’t have to keep putting this off.

Most people wait years before getting help for pelvic symptoms. Your first step is a free, no-pressure conversation — you talk, Jess listens, and together you decide whether Haven is a good fit.
